Raw Almond Milk

I love nut milks. I’ve already shared my Cashew Milk recipe, now I’m sharing my (very similar) Almond Milk recipe.afterlight(1)

Homemade almond milk is perfect for smoothie making or for just drinking alone-it’s packed with nutrients! And adds to your raw foods daily intake.

Recipe yields roughly 16oz. and can be stored in a refrigerator for 3-4 days.

  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 dates or agave nectar to taste, I used 2 1/2 tbsp
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • a dash of cinnamon

Soak the almonds in HOT water for 2 hours or in room temperature water for at least 8 hours or over night. Once almonds are done soaking, place all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until smooth. Then strain mixture and the liquid you are left with is your almond milk. I sometimes skip the straining part and just give the mixture a serious blend, because I don’t mind the almond “pulp”. But if you want a smoother mixture then be sure to strain!

I’ll also be posting a recipe using almond pulp soon, so it won’t go to waste!
