We’ve all been there. It’s wedding season and we are pumped to see our friends and/or family celebrate their love, but shortly after we may realize how many wedding guest dresses we’re going to need to buy. Searching for wedding guest attire is a little tricky, because if you’re like me #1 You want to be able to wear it again and #2 You want to dress up for the special occasion. So my predicament is finding perfect pieces that are versatile enough to be able to be dressed up perfectly for weddings, but can also be great for date nights and other more frequent events.

Before I share with you perfect wedding guest dresses you can wear again, let me start with a few tips that I shop by and keep in mind when looking for my outfits.
- Don’t be afraid of patterns. Floral, stripes-whatever your favorite pattern is, don’t shy away from it for wedding guest attire. Most people tend to choose monotone and solid colors thinking those are the only styles that will be versatile. However, wedding season falls between the ladder Spring months and Summer months, which are seasons of bold and fun print. So opting for a floral print dress can actually be more versatile during this time of the year than a simple black dress.
- Keep the hemline in mind. Sometimes we want to gravitate towards floor length dresses with an even hemline. However, choosing ones with asymmetrical and shorter hemlines can be more versatile. For instance, a midi dress is more easily styled with pretty flat sandals for casual events, than a dress that can only be worn with heels.
- Accessories can make the look. Even the simplest of dresses can look the part when accessorized to the T. For me, shoes and earrings are my go-to’s when sparkling up a dress for a wedding. I reach for statement and bold earrings and strappy, usually metallic heels.
