How to Dress Up a Sweater

Sweaters are known for being a laid-back and chill wardrobe piece. I personally love a cozy knit sweater any day and wish I could wear them more often. It’s tough with the weather here in Miami. But finally Fall will give me a chance to not only wear sweaters, but get a little fancy with them too! Today I’m talking about how to dress up a sweater.

Not that we needed another reason to buy cozy sweaters, because they’re awesome. But if I can take a sweater from day to night, all the more reason to invest in several soft and flattering styles.

This exact green sweater is sold out, but I found similar one at H&M that looks so soft and it’s also a great price. My favorite way to dress up a sweater is by pairing it with a skirt. The look becomes even more fun with this ruffled layered skirt.

If I decide on pairing a sweater with a shorter skirt, like an above-the-knee or midi length, I’d opt for low-cut bootie heels. For this longer skirt, and because it’s a statement all on it’s own, I went with simple heels. But even though these heels are simple, their rich burgundy color is sooo pretty for Fall. I have this same exact style in one other color and I’ll probably be adding a few more different colors in time too. I usually never like buying multiples of one shoe, but these suede heels are just so versatile and come is so many colors-I can’t help it!

To top off a dressy sweater look, a statement clutch is a great choice. I especially love mixing this leopard print clutch with anything striped, so the second I saw the stripes in this skirt I knew it would be a perfect match.
