While I’m stuck in the house this Thursday, hiding out from Hurricane Matthew, I thought I would share with you all something that I’ve received lots of questions about. My everyday makeup routine. I’ve always taken this seriously, not because I like to load on the makeup, but because of two things. Firstly, I believe it’s important to look put together and look like your best self everyday. Even though I work from home, I still wakeup everyday and get dressed and put my everyday makeup on. Secondly, I’ve mentioned a hundred times on my blog that I have ridiculously sensitive skin-so anything I’m wearing on my face everyday has to be the best and tried-and-true. Continue Reading
Today I’m excited to share a skincare line that I have fallen in love with. For some time now Tula has been on my radar. The continuous raving reviews are what had me becoming more and more interested in the skincare line. When it comes to skincare, nothing persuades me. I’ve always believed in just carefully reading the ingredients label and testing products out myself. This is because of my extremely sensitive skin. However, the reviews I kept reading were so full of praise I knew I had to try the Tula line out for myself and let my readers know what the deal was.
Well, I’m in love. As I mentioned earlier, and many times on my blog before, my skin is very sensitive. Makeup, moisturizer, cleansers…the list goes on of things that will give me a breakout or rash instantly. So you can imagine my hesitance and choosiness when trying out any new products. However, I have nothing but good things to say about this skincare line. I wanted to give it a good amount of time (a 1 1/2 month to be exact) to make sure the results we’re positive and increasing in visibility, before I shared it with you all. And they have been 🙂
For the last two months I’ve been using the Tula Exfoliating Treatment Mask twice a week and the Tula Hydrating Day & Night Cream every day. I never use masks, quite frankly I’m terrified of them. With the sensitivity of my skin the thought of leaving a product on it for that long has never sounded like a good idea to me. Now, I don’t think I’ll ever stop using an exfoliating mask. As for the Hydrating Cream, I don’t think I’ll ever stop using THIS EXACT cream. Somedays I put it all over my face and neck, others just under my eyes. This past month and a half, I haven’t had one day of dry skin and I wake up every morning with soft, dewy skin. Now I’m ready to try Tula‘s other products to see what kind of goodness they do to my skin!
If you have been looking for amazing products to nourish and revive your skin, or just love adding new products to your routine, give this skincare line a try. And let me know your thoughts on it too!
Happy Monday! I am so excited to be sharing a new product that I’ve included in my beauty/diet routine for the past two weeks. I’m always on the search for protein supplements that are safe, taste good and are catered towards revitalizing my skin. Vital Proteins is just that! True story, I not only have the most sensitive skin, but stress also does not mix well with my complexion. I’ve had a hectic past couple of weeks which would normally mean a breakout or two, but I’ve been drinking Vital Proteins shakes 4-6 times a week these past two weeks and I know it’s what has helped my skin look clear and healthy!
I’ve been using both the Marine Collagen and the Collagen Beauty Greens. With ingredients like natural glycine, raw organic greens, hyaluronic acid and probiotics-it’s no wonder I’ve seen results in only two weeks. Although I’ve been mixing these protein supplements in a handful of delicious smoothies (which I’ll be sharing with you soon!) One of my favorites has been the Raspberry Banana and Lemon Shake.
1 serving of either Vital Proteins supplement
half a banana
3/4 cup coconut milk
Mix everything in a blender and enjoy! I’ll be posting updates of my new beauty/health routine both on my Instagram and Snapchat (@mskristaperez), so be sure to follow along!

I’m pretty excited to share with you these new Makeup Forever 2-in-1 Lip Sculpting Pens. I just received all four of the shades of this lip pen and I am in love. They glide on so easily and last all day. I’m a huge lipstick critic, so if I’m saying I love it-it’s good stuff 😉
What’s so cool about this particular lipstick is it’s “sculpting” aspect. After using the color side of the lip pen, you then use the sculpting side on the inner part of your lips to add a subtle dimension that gives your pout that extra oomph!
Along with this new lip pen (which you guys totally have to try!), I am sharing a few of my favorite lipstick choices and their neutral/rosey shades I can’t get enough of. While I love bright pinks and reds for Spring and Summer, there is still nothing I love more than a natural-esque lip!
Foundation: Ulta Highlighter: Ulta Blush Illuminator: Ulta Mascara: Ulta Eye Shadow: UltaToday I’m sharing with you my drugstore makeup favorites. I’ll admit, I am a makeup snob. 95% of the time I do my cosmetics shopping at Sephora or department stores and only use designer makeup brands. Makeup has always been the purchase in my life that I continuously splurge on and honestly have no guilt over. If that means counting pennies elsewhere, I’ll do it!
That being said, when I do find myself at the drugstore, it’s getting my hands on these few favorites that I’ve fallen in love with.
First up, foundation. I’ve never been a big fan of foundation. In fact, I only use it for special events or times I know I will need something with a little more wear to get me through a long day. I usually stick to just mineral powder. When I do choose to wear foundation, one of my go-to’s is Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous. It’s light-weight, doesn’t sink in creases and the smallest bit goes a long way. I should mentioned I have the most sensitive skin. Like ever. Which is why I’ve always gravitated towards high-end makeup brands, but this foundation has never made me break out.
Secondly, highlighter. I’ll admit, I still have my other brand name highlighter that I interchange with. However, for the price (a mere $13 bucks) this has tied my other highlighter which is double the price.
Now illuminators, they are the hottest thing in the makeup world right now and for good reason. They just tend to be really pricey. This Loreal illuminator is a fraction of the price most brand name illuminators are. Plus, what I love about this specific one is the fact that it acts as a two-in-one illuminator and blush. Whichever shade you choose, based on your skin, it will add a nice touch of color to your cheeks too.
Next is mascara. This is probably the product I am the pickiest with. I want a certain shade, texture, curve of the applicator, material of the applicator…the list goes on and on. I close-to-never purchase mascara at drugstores, but I have taken a liking to this Maybelline Lash Sensational. One swipe goes a long with and at $9 bucks, it’s a steal. Prepare yourself….I usually spend….TRIPLE that amount on mascara. So you can understand my enthusiasm when I find one 1/3 of the price I actually like.
Lastly, eyeshadow. I never wear eye shadow. Call me lazy (cause that’s pretty much the reason why), I just never feel like figuring out what shades and where to put them on my eye lid. Probably why I’m such a mascara fanatic, I just rely on that pizzazz. Revlon’s Photo Ready Eye Art is the coolest little product. It comes with two liquid eyeshadows that dry quickly and stay put without creasing. Although they may look flashy, they go on lightly and give only a subtle shimmer and color-which I love!
