Almost a year later, but I’m finally sharing some photos from my beautiful engagement party. It was a warm and sunny day, with even a short shower later in the evening, but nothing could put a damper on this special celebration.
Every beautiful wooden decoration was built by my fiance and dad. The backdrop, the bar, the tree trunk center pieces, the “she said yes” sign, the chalkboard sign and the food display. The delicious southern fare was cooked and baked by my amazing mom. The brisket, honey-glazed ham, cornbread, pies and cakes. It was everything I could have imagined it to be, with the people who mean the most to my fiance and I.
We are suckers for succulents. I loved how we mixed and matched these little cuties in hand-dipped gold glitter vases. On each center piece was a wooden airplane that read, “Love Is In the Air”. This symbolized out of almost eight years together, almost four of them were long distance. I rode many planes across the country just so I could plant a big one on this fella. They were the hardest years on our relationship, but our love and faith made our relationship grow in ways we never knew imaginable. In these moss covered tin buckets went ice to keep cool the yummy California Table Wine that went deliciously with our southern dinner. Caramel popcorn is our kryptonite, we can’t get enough of it. So we decided that would be a yummy treat for our guests to snack on and cute addition to the tablescape. Especially since it subtly ties in the whole “popping the question” tidbit. This beautifully rustic bar was a crowd favorite. Also made by my dad and fiance, it was the perfect decor to place these jars that held different flavored juices for our Bellini Bar. This incredible piece was built by my dad and fiance. We wanted a beautiful centerpiece for the tent that could also double as great photo backdrop. Our wedding planning is going smoothly and at our own pace. We’re having a wonderful, fun and long engagement and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We’ve been soaking up every minute of being ‘fiances’. I’ve decided to start sharing more details from our wedding planning-process, stay tuned!
