There are some combinations that are just perfection and pineapple + jalapeño is one of them. A wonderful mix of fruity sweet and heat. The only other combination that competes is watermelon and jalapeño, but watermelon tends to be a really subtle flavor, so I think pineapple still comes out on top.

Adding some heat or spice to a cocktail is also an easy way to create a cocktail at home that feels fancier, since it has more flavor depth. The other thing I can’t stop doing every time I make a cocktail is crush the ice. Sure, you can buy a $500 crushed iced machine OR you can put ice in a blender for 5 seconds and get the same consistency.

Crushed Ice Pineapple Jalapeño Tequila Cocktail


Servings: 1

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz reposado tequila
  • 6 oz fresh pineapple juice
  • crushed iced
  • sliced jalapeño, seeded

Directions:

  1. Muddle jalapeño in pineapple juice for a minute, so that the jalapeño flavors release.
  2. Pour in tequila.
  3. Stir.
  4. Pour mixture with strainer over crushed ice in a glass.
  5. Garnish with jalapeño slice.
