Velvet Wide Leg Pants Outfit

Velvet Wide Leg Pants Outfit Petite

Today I’m sharing this velvet wide leg pants outfit that works for the holidays and beyond. I’m still very into buying a sequin or tartan dress that screams holiday, but it’s also nice purchasing a piece during this season with a holiday event in mind and also knowing it will get wear throughout the entire year.

SHOP MY LOOK

I recently posted a photo on my instagram in an outfit wearing wide leg pants and received a comment that I get emailed or messaged me to weekly, which is something along the lines of “I’m short and love wide leg pants, but don’t know if I can pull them off”. I always hate hearing this, but I get it. I’m a firm believer that you can wear anything you want regardless of height, you just have to be patient in shopping for the style so you can pay attention to all of the fit details. 50% of my pant collection is wide leg, but I’ve purchased and returned and tried-on countless pairs that didn’t cut it for me for one reason or another. Another tip is to try and looks for wide leg pants that are available in petite sizing. Those are usually always a winner for me.

The wide leg pants I’m wearing are gorgeous. The photo doesn’t do them justice-the fabric is beautiful and the fit feels tailored. They’re available in four different colors and I’m tempted to get them in pink 😍

VELVET WIDE LEG PANTS

This pant can go with tons of different styles of tops, but because I’m petite I do like to balance the bolder fit of the pant with a more fitted top like the ribbed knit long sleeve I’m wearing (which is $15 + 30% off). I also wanted to keep my look sleek, but more on the casual side. However, this pant would look so good with a statement top to dress it all up.

DRESSY TOPS TO PAIR WITH THE PANTS

You can’t see much of them, but I’m wearing a very tall and chunky heel mule sandal to finish off this look. When wearing a pant that has a lot of fabric going on, I choose chunkier heels to pair them with instead of a thinner heel that will get lost and look unbalanced against the statement pant. And if you’re petite like me, a taller heel (4″ and above) will also help you with such a longline pant.

THE HEELS I’M WEARING

I did want to share that the pants do have a matching blazer available that is equally as gorgeous and of course I also want, because you know I’m a blazer-lover.
